Questions and Answers
Can I speak to you before, during, or after the ceremony?
Yes! The best time will be after the ceremony, during the Zoom afterparty.
How can I watch the ceremony?
The ceremony will be streamed via YouTube Live and can be viewed here.
How will the Zoom afterparty work?
On our streaming page, there will be a big, bold button to “Join the Zoom Afterparty.” After our ceremony is completed, you will click that link to open a Zoom call.
If you’d like to hear toasts and speeches from our family, and then chat with us, we’d love for you to be a part of it. We will likely mute the audio of everyone, just to limit noise for the whole group. After the toasts and speeches, we will privately chat with everyone who is still with us, similar to how the couple would visit tables at an in-person wedding.
Is Kara officiating her own wedding ceremony?
While this is as close as Kara ever imagined getting to officiating her own wedding, she is legally not allowed to preside over her own ceremony. We have found a Rabbi who performs interfaith weddings and has not run away when Kara shared all her thoughts and edits for the ceremony.
Shoutout to all those who have given Kara the honor of officiating your wedding – it really helped prepare her for this day!
Is there a dress code?
Nope! But if you’re looking for an excuse to get dressed up, even if it’s just your fanciest sweatpants, please feel free to do so! Take a picture with us or the stream in the background, post it online, and tag it #OKeefeAdministration.
The stream isn’t working. What do I do?
Try refreshing the page, and hit the play button again. Wait a few seconds, and try again. If for some reason, it doesn’t work, we’re sorry about that. But don’t worry, the ceremony is being recorded, independent of the stream, and will be uploaded in full following the event. We’ll be sure to send you a link.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to answer any calls or texts during the ceremony because we’ll be focused on speaking slowly and not tripping.
What are all of the logos, photos, and images on the homepage and in your header?
What are you doing to ensure COVID safety?
We take COVID very seriously and are both uncomfortable putting our family and friends at risk at this time. We’ve decided the ceremony will be us, an officiant, a photographer, and a streaming tech team of 3. The ceremony will be outside, distanced, and everyone who is not on camera will be masked. We are also taking precautions to adjust ceremonial traditions to make them as touchless and safe as possible.
What is your hashtag?
#OKeefeAdministration
What time does the ceremony start?
The ceremony will start around 4PM PT / 7PM ET, though we might delay it a bit to catch the good light.
Where is the schedule of events?
What music would you have played at your wedding?
Check out this Spotify playlist (and for even more, this one)!
Where will you be physically?
We have rented a private home with a large outdoor area in Simi Valley, California. We will have the property to ourselves save for the wild bunnies roaming the grounds.
Why is the domain name ilovethisplan.com?
Because we’re excited to be a part of it! For all the details, please go here.
