Zoom After Party
Our Zoom after party will begin following the ceremony. Here’s what you can expect:
There will be a brief gap in time between when the ceremony ends and when we join the Zoom after party, and the party begins. You are welcome to join the after party immediately, and we’ll be with everyone as soon as we can.
Our friend Brandon is helping us make the Zoom party happen as smoothly as possible. For that reason, you may see his name pop up because he’s moving you into a room, muting or unmuting a mic, or something along those lines.
Given the number of Zoom connections we might have, everyone who enters the room will be muted by default, to minimize noise and make sure that the person speaking can be clearly heard.
We will first have toasts from the parents of the bride and groom. This will be followed by speeches from maid of honor Alex and best man Sean.
After the speeches, we will open it up to the room if anyone would like to say a few words in front of the group. We will invite people to wave at the camera, type “hand” in the chat, or use a Zoom reaction to let us know they would like to speak. And then they’ll have the floor.
For anyone who would like to have a private minute or two with the bridge and groom, we’ll be concluding the party by going into a private room with each person or group that’s still on the call, to say a quick hello and thank you for coming. Similar to how we might visit your table if this were in-person!
Fair warning, it might be a little boring to wait for us as we’ll be talking to people one-by-one. But if you want to talk to us, we’d love to talk with you. Please feel free to leave at any time as this is lowkey and there is no pressure!
What happens if the stream is broken?
Try refreshing the page, and hit the play button again. Wait a few seconds, and try again. If for some reason, it doesn’t work, we’re sorry about that. But don’t worry, the ceremony is being recorded, independent of the stream, and will be uploaded in full following the event. We’ll be sure to send you a link.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to answer any calls or texts during the ceremony because we’ll be focused on speaking slowly and not tripping.
