Egon Spengler: I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways. We could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
Peter Venkman: How?
Spengler: [hesitates] We'll cross the streams.
Venkman: 'Scuse me, Egon? You said crossing the streams was bad!
Ray Stantz: Cross the streams...
Venkman: You're gonna endanger us, you're gonna endanger our client - the nice lady who paid us in advance, before she became a dog.
Spengler: Not necessarily. There's definitely a very slim chance we'll survive.
[beat]
Venkman: [slaps Ray] I love this plan! I'm excited to be a part of it! LET'S DO IT!

Spook Central Rooftop, Ghostbusters, 1984
What was meant to be a friendly post-Bad Boy* concert lunch turned into an accidental first date when Kara and Patrick made an important discovery over slices of Gino’s pizza: their shared love for Ghostbusters. They both quoted it often, felt nostalgic towards the toy firehouse and Hi-C Ecto Cooler, and owned limited edition 30th anniversary art prints for the film.
June 2016 texts between Kara (white) and Patrick (green) continuing to marvel over their shared romantic criteria

Coupled with their mutual devotion to the New York Yankees, Kara and Patrick took a risk based on their common interests and went on an out-of-state second date. With Kara in New York and Patrick in North Carolina, they chose to meet (not quite) halfway in Alexandria, Virginia. As luck would have it, a local movie theater was playing an encore showing of Ghostbusters in honor of Ghostbusters Day. Patrick snuck in two Hi-C Ecto Coolers and while they both discovered the nostalgic drink was a lot sweeter and less palatable than they remembered, the film and their time together exceeded expectations.

Kara and I snuck these into the theater for Ghostbusters.

Fast forward past job changes and a cross-country move to Hollywood when Patrick and Kara returned to New York in December 2019 for Hanukkah and Christmas Eve. Patrick brought Kara to the holiest of places, the Ghostbusters Firehouse in Tribeca, and got down on one knee for the following exchange:

Patrick: Do you want to watch Ghostbusters together for the rest of our lives?
Kara: I love this plan! I'm excited to be a part of it!

Having come full circle, we’re excited to have you join us virtually as we embark on the next chapter of love and adventure even more radical than crossing the streams.
